Aspiring filmmakers Mel Funn, Marty Eggs and Dom Bell go to a financially troubled studio with an idea for a silent movie. In an effort to make the movie more marketable, they attempt to recruit a number of big name stars to appear, while the studio's creditors attempt to thwart them. The film contains only one word of dialogue, spoken by an unlikely source.。1941年12月、日本側の真珠湾攻撃によって幕を開けた太平洋戦争の始まりから80年。本作はのちの真珠湾攻撃を指揮する提督・山本五十六が国家の命運を背負い、開戦前のロンドンで軍縮交渉に臨む姿を描いた実録ドラマだ。アメリカの絶大な国力を知り、戦争は避けるべきと考えた五十六。組織の中で板挟みになりながら、ぎりぎりまで決裂回避への道を探り続ける五十六の“ある決断”が描かれる。。
