大木琢郎是一家小餐馆的店长，虽然待人和善，脾气又好，可年过而立的他至今连一次恋爱都未成功过。店里来了新的服务员宽子，长相甜美又勤劳的她一下子博取了众人的喜欢，当琢郎鼓起勇气对其告白时，对方却逃跑了。大受打击的琢郎将此归咎于自己外表的缺陷而懊恼不已，此时他意外地获得了一套“英俊西装”，穿上它，琢郎便化身为外表光鲜亮丽的光山杏仁，他火速跨入模特界，并和第一人气模特来香搭档，迅速蹿红为人气王。可是当巨大的刺激过后，一人分饰二角的情形开始困扰琢郎，大木琢郎和光山杏仁，他最终要选择哪一个呢？。The film is based loosely around events in December 1995 that culminated in the murders of three drug dealers in Rettendon, Essex, UK.
